Awards

Overview

The Diversify TV Excellence Awards were created in order to recognise, champion and celebrate diversity, equality and inclusion in television programming from around the world.

The winners of each award are judged by organisations that advocate for minority groups and therefore have a deep understanding of the challenges and issues these groups face. If you work for an organisation that would like to be involved in judging the awards, please email awards@diversifytv.com

DiversifyTV Award Trophy

The inaugural Diversify TV Excellence Awards were held in October 2017 in Cannes, France and have continued to be held annually, shining a light on diverse programming from around the world.

This exposure has helped 2017 winner, Belgian drama Team Chocolat, be remade in Italian for Rai Uno and go into active development with German broadcaster ZDF. The Australian show First Day, which was commissioned as a standalone episode to celebrate the International Day of the Girl, went on to receive a series commission after being recognised in the 2018 Childrens category.
